With over 20 resorts to stay at on Disney property, it is no wonder choosing the right hotel to stay at can be stressful. Luckily for you, we consider ourselves experts in the field! Join us as we dive into the different hotels that the Walt Disney World Resort has to offer!
There are 4 different levels of resorts at Walt Disney World. These include value, moderate, deluxe, and deluxe villas. It is important to note that each "level" of resorts will offer different amenities and perks. We are going to take you through some of their amenities, pricing, and proximity to help ensure you pick the best option for your vacation!
Let's start with our budget and family-friendly options, the value resorts. There are five different resorts to choose from in this category. There are three All-Star Resorts located right next to one another, this includes All-Star Movies, All-Star Sports, and All-Star Music. The other two are located closer to the EPCOT resort area both sharing Skyliner access, and these include Disney’s Pop Century and Disney’s Art of Animation Resorts. One of the most important things to do before booking your trip is figuring out your budget which will help your travel advisor find your best accommodation options. These five resorts will normally run you anywhere from $100 to $300.00 a night in the peak season. Last year we even saw some nights at the All-Star Resorts with the 30% off promo for only $94.00 a night, that is a steal! If you're like me and often just need somewhere to rest your head, these resorts will be perfect for you. They have all recently been renovated and have a new modern look on the interior of the rooms. The value resorts also have some of the best theming for Disney properties. If you're looking for something that reminds you you're staying at the Walt Disney World Resort these are going to be the resorts for you. They seriously scream Disney! Art of Animation and Disney's Pop Century Resort are conveniently located on the Skyliner which has routes to Disney's Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. This high-in-the-sky mode of transportation is a favorite for Disney guests including myself! And on average it's only a few extra dollars a night to stay here compared to the All-Star Resorts. Be sure to ask your travel advisor when Run Disney marathons and other events are happening at the ESPN-wide world of sports as many of these athletes will stay at these hotels, which can become super busy! All Disney resort hotels have transportation to and from the parks making it super convenient for guests staying on property who don't want to drive. Just hop on the bus, they run approximately every 15 minutes!
Our next set of resorts is the moderates! These include Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Port Orleans French Quarter, Port Orleans Riverside, and Coronado Springs. These rooms on average can range from $250 to $400 a night during peak season. If you are traveling as a family of five, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Port Orleans Riverside offer 5th sleeper options, so you don’t have to purchase two rooms or a family suite, talk about convenience. Now all four of these resorts have a completely different vibe. The Port Orleans resorts are super laid back and relatively quiet. I always mention these for adult-only trips if you want to stay out of the hustle and bustle of Disney properties. Coronado Springs is one of the few Disney resort properties that has a convention area right in it. Often you will see organizations here for work-related trips. However, don’t let that deter you! Coronado Springs has some of the best food on Disney property! Lastly, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. You seriously cannot go wrong here! They offer Skyliner access departing to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT, and you can also take a flight to Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Art of Animation to explore the resorts. Caribbean Beach is the perfect resort if you want to feel like you are in the tropics! The rooms on average are about ten square feet larger than the value resorts which truly can make a huge difference when you are traveling with larger families!
Lastly, we will combine the Deluxe resorts and Deluxe Villas. This category holds the most resorts with twenty-one resorts to choose from! These rooms range from studios which can hold 4 and sometimes 5 guests up to three-bedroom villas which hold up to 12 guests. Eight of these resorts are Deluxe and the other thirteen are Deluxe Villas (this is where we saw the 1,2-, and 3-bedroom options). These resorts will run you the most money at roughly $500 to $2,500 a night in peak season. Let’s discuss these based on proximity to the parks. In the Magic Kingdom Resort area, we have Disney’s Polynesian Resort and Villas, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Villa, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and the Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge! Minus the Wilderness Lodge and Boulder Ridge Villa, these resorts are located conveniently on the monorail loop which takes you to Magic Kingdom and EPCOT after switching monorails at the ticket and transportation center located between the Contemporary and Polynesian Resorts. At Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, they have convenient boat transportation to the Magic Kingdom as well. Our next set of Deluxe Resorts and Villas are in the EPCOT resort area. These resorts include Disney’s Riviera Resort, Disney’s Boardwalk, and Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. These resorts are best suited for people who love spending their time in EPCOT. Disney's Riviera resort has skyline or access making it easy to get to and from Disney's Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. Disney's boardwalk, beach club, and Yacht Club resort are all just a short boat ride away from these two parks. Disney's Beach Club also has arguably the best pool on the property. The boardwalk resort has some great nightlife with clubs and amazing dining options, too. If you prefer to live life on the wild side, you may want to look into staying at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and Villas. Conveniently located about five minutes from Disney’s Animal Kingdom is this beautiful resort. With some of the best dining options at the hotels, and having the option to book a savannah view room to watch animals out of your bedroom, this resort is sure to be a family favorite! While you are here consider dining at Boma, which I believe is the best breakfast on all of the property (don’t forget to drink the POG juice)! And finally, located in the Disney Springs resort area are Disney’s Old Key West Resort and Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort. While you can take a boat ride to Disney Springs from both of these resorts, the Saratoga Springs Resort has a walkway directly to the springs, making it super easy to go shop and dine! These resort themes are a little less Disney. Saratoga Springs is based on Upstate New York’s horse racing capital! Fun fact, I frequently visit Saratoga Springs here in New York, and the resemblance is uncanny! Old Key West however is based on the beautiful Florida Keys, helping you feel relaxed and rejuvenated. A bonus staying at Deluxe Resorts, Walt Disney World parks stay open (on occasion) later for guests staying here, which means you can get up to two extra hours in the park! All these resorts have incredible pools, and dining options too, making it an easy decision to choose one of these resorts for your stay!
